When the Chicago Bears report to Olivet Nazarene University one by one today, it’s a safe bet that the top question each of the players will be asked will pertain to the drama that unfolded on Wednesday.
In an interview with KFAN-AM, former Bears and current Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Bobby Wade alleged that the Bears were unhappy thus far with new quarterback Jay Cutler, adding that linebacker Brian Urlacher questioned the toughness of his new teammate.
“Pretty much, (Urlacher) said Jay Cutler was a (expletive),” Wade said on the radio show.
News of Wade’s comments soon hit Chicago sports-talk radio airwaves, with Urlacher offering a quick response, telling the Chicago Tribune, “(Wade)’s trying to get things going before training camp. That’s just Bobby being Bobby.”
Cutler has thus far not offered a comment on the situation.
Urlacher is traditionally one of the last players to report to camp and Cutler’s expected arrival time at ONU is unknown.
