Devin Hester ended his two-day holdout from Bears’ training camp at Olivet Nazarene University but did not practice with the team on Friday.
Coach Lovie Smith said a hamstring injury kept him out of practice, but that it isn’t expected to be a serious injury.
Hester arrived at practice with just 20 minutes remaining in the workout. He was driven to the practice field in a John Deere motorized cart. He was wearing his practice jersey and orange shorts, but no pads. He briefly talked with the media after practice and then signed autographs.
Scott Hagel, senior director of corporation communications for the team, told the media Hester has been placed on the non-football injury list due to the injury.
When asked if he would practice without a new contract, Hester replied “no comment.”

Hamstring Injury or Contract Dispute? Why not just admit to the fact of contractural demands? Why did the hamstring all of a sudden appear? Bears front office are beginning to sound like politicians.
