Getting to camp

In recent years, signs have directed out-of-town Bears fans to use Armour Road in Bourbonnais to reach camp. But this year, a $3.8 million construction project currently under way on Armour Road makes for delays and the need for alternate routes.

Coming from the north on Interstate 57

Take Manteno Exit 322 off Interstate 57. Signage will direct drivers to travel west on Manteno Road to U.S. Route 45/52 and travel south into Bourbonnais.

From the Interstate 57 Exit 315

Travel north to Larry Power Road, drive west on Larry Power Road to U.S. Route 45/52.

Another alternate to avoid the construction is to take Illinois Route 50 south from Exit 315, turn right (west) on North Street, then turn right (north) on U.S. Route 45/52.

Camp basics

The Chicago Bears training camp opens Friday, July 31 on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. The camp gives fans three weeks of almost daily practices to see their favorite players for free.

With the exception of concessions, everything is still free to the public — free admission and free parking. Only note that to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, alcohol and smoking are not permitted on the campus.

The Daily Journal’s Fan Packs will contain a community map, keepsakes, coupons and coverage of Camp They are $1 each and will be sold at Camp. The programs have the most information about camp and the players and those are $4 each. The roster cards are free each day at our booth and will have the up-to-date roster on the backside.
